Heart Walkers
Whether you want to lose weight or are just trying to stay physically fit, consistent exercise is the key.
That's why Decatur Memorial Hospital and Hickory Point Mall have teamed up with the American Heart Association to provide Heart Walkers - a fun program designed to help you walk your way to a healthier lifestyle.
Heart Walkers is free of charge and open to the public. To Participate you have three choices.
You can log miles by walking at Hickory Point Mall or any other location. One lap around the mall is approximately .66 miles or 1 kilometer.
Experts agree that walking five to nine miles each week is beneficial. For best results, exercise 20 to 40 minutes at least three times a week. This includes five minutes of warm-up, 20 to 30 minutes in your target zone and five minutes of cool down.
